Stop by any time between 11:00-2:30pm to chat with Bill Bridgeford, former Peace Corps Service Volunteer, about his experience and future opportunities available to you with the Peace Corps after graduation.
Peace Corps offers those who serve the chance to gain international leadership experience in the fields of Education, Health, the Environment, Agriculture, Youth Leadership Development, and Community Economic Development. Volunteers live and work in overseas communities for 12-24 months, teaching and learning across different cultures. The work is demanding, but the rewards are great. A no-cost passport, paid roundtrip air travel, a generous living allowance, secure housing, full medical care, paid vacation days, and no-interest student loan deferment are just some of the benefits we receive while we serve.
After service, Volunteers receive up to a $20,000 readjustment allowance, lifetime access to subsidized graduate school educational opportunities, and a preferential hiring status for Federal employment. Our student loans are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and we also become part of a professional network made up of tens of thousands of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who are active in every field of professional endeavor. This recruiting event is brought to you by UMass Career Services.
